2Face Idibia‘s new role requires more than his vocal prowess.
On Friday 4th July 2014, the Red Cross Society of Nigeria honoured the pop star at a press conference to announce a partnership between 2Face Idibia’s Million Voices for Peace campaign and the Red Cross Society of Nigeria.
The partnership with the Red Cross
Society of Nigeria seeks to explore areas of collaboration in raising
awareness on the needs of people affected by violence in Nigeria with
the aim of mobilizing support for them.
Through this initiative, 2Face Idibia
joins a list of renowned celebrities who have shown commitment in
speaking up for some of the world’s most vulnerable groups.
“Today we take a big step in improvising the plight of internally displaced persons in Nigeria through our partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross Society. My colleagues and I have followed closely the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross society and I must confess that we are inspired and excited at the chance to support this cause.” 2Face said at the event.
A few months back, a track titled – Break the Silence,
was released by the Million Voices for Peace campaign. Proceeds from
the sale of the song will go towards supporting the work of the Red
Cross Society of Nigeria.
Nigerian singer Essence was also present at the event.
