With the current outbreak of Ebola virus in Liberia and the case of a Liberian diplomat who died as a result of the virus in Nigeria, neighboring country, Ghana, has officially banned flights from four West African countries; Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nigeria.

The Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, Charles Asare, said the measure taken was part of a set of emergency management plans officials were rolling out to combat the spread of the virus.

Furthermore the Ghanaian government has also implemented strict restrictions on the movement and management of Liberian refugees in camps in the country.

The Ghanaian Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, has urged Ghanaians to bear with the government as they work to avoid spread of the virus. "Preparedness is not an event but a process," he stated.
