An unmanned NASA rocket carrying materials and secret equipment to the International Space Station exploded in the air, producing gigantic flames and loud booms along the Atlantic ocean, but fortunately caused no damages or deaths.
It exploded seconds after lift-off from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on Wallops Island.
“A mishap has occurred. We have lost the vehicle,” supervisors said seconds after the explosion.
Surroundings, environmental and other conditions for the launch were perfect, but, as it left the launch-pad, the rocket was destroyed by a blast.
Authorities said there were no victims from the explosion and that the damage was limited to the launch facility.
