A new report by vanguard
indicates that a clandestine investigation may have been initiated by
President Muhammadu Buhari into the leadership of the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission.
The investigation is believed to have been ordered as
a result of the allegations of shady dealings levelled against EFCC
leadership.
A source from the office of the National Security Adviser said the
investigation into the EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde, had commenced
long before the allegation was made before the Senate by George Uboh of
Panic Alert Security Services.
Uboh had accused Lamorde’s leadership of being unable to account for up to N1 trillion seized by the anti-graft agency.
It is reported that the investigations is being coordinated by the
office of the National Security Adviser as well as the National
Intelligence Agency and Department of State Services.
