Reports went viral in Nigeria that Ghanaian movie stars John
Dumelo and Jackie Appiah may be in a fraudulent mess following the 2014
World -Cup Saga.
The popular actress has been mentioned as one
of Ghana’s World Cup ambassadors paid over $20,000 each on a
state-sponsored all-expenses paid trip to the global football tournament
in the South American country in June.
They were to supposedly lead cheering of the Black Stars and help brand Ghana in Brazil.
Hitherto
Minister of Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has already told the
Commission that each of the ambassadors were paid $20,000 each during
their stay in Brazil, even though many of them were not able to go and
watch Ghana’s matches in Forta Leza against Germany and Brasilia versus
Portugal.
In a phone Chat with our correspondent Attractive in Ghana, he told NigeriaFilms.Com
that the issue has nothing to do with John Dumelo and Jackie Appiah in
Fraudulent act, like reported by some Nigeria Media Houses.
However,
the president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians
living in the USA that the country will not spare officials who are
found guilty by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the
national team's shambolic showing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana
failed to make it past the group stages at the global football
championship for the first time when camp dissatisfaction, squabbles and
monetary dogfight affected the Black Stars on-field displays which
culminated in the President ordering for a whooping $4million (four
million US Dollars) cash to be carted on a chartered flight to Brazil to
pay the players their appearances in time to avert their intended
boycott of Ghana's last game against Portugal.
The Ghanaian
President set up a 3-man Commission of Inquiry headed by high court
judge, Justice Dzamefe which has been looking at the conduct of the
investigations.
