Joan
Rivers’ funeral wish was to have a huge showbiz affair with lights,
cameras, action. And so it was that today Sept 6, a legion of Hollywood
stars turned out at the New York's Temple Emanu-El to remember the
legendary comedienne who died on Thursday 11 aged 81.
‘I want Bobby Vinton to pick up my head and sing 'Mr. Lonely.’
Bobby was not there to sing Mr. Lonely but her mourners were treated to
a performance by the New York City Gay Men's Chorus singing
'irreverent, fun songs.’ Hugh Jackman also delivered a moving tribute,
singing Peter Allen's 'Quiet Please, There's a Lady on Stage,' and ‘Put
your hands together.'
‘I want Meryl Streep crying, in five different accents,’ instead, there were hundreds of Meryl Streep’s …of mourners who wailed for their lost.
"I don’t want some rabbi rambling on; I don’t want a eulogy.’ Joan did get all her funeral wish. An insider who was among the attendees, told MailOnline.
'It
felt like a Broadway show with tons of humor, lots of tears and it
ended with a standing ovation. It was perfect. That's exactly how it
should've been.')
