SSS Arrests Alleged Kidnappers/Murders of Hon Okorie

The Directorate of the State Security Service (SSS) at the weekend in Ebonyi state paraded 6 suspected kidnappers that masterminded the kidnapping and brutal murder of the former Coordinator of Okposi Development Center and Proprietor of Zenith International School, Okposi, Ohaozara Local Government Area, Hon Ihebunandu Okorie.

Recall that Hon. Okorie was kidnapped at the Presbyterian Church, Okposi by a gang 4 armed men. The kidnappers established contact with the victims family demanding for ransom of N50 million. It was later reduced to N5million before they subsequently demanded for N500, 000 only.

However, Okorie was killed by the kidnappers even before the ransom was paid and the decomposing body of the victim was found in a forest at Nguzu Edda in Afikpo South LGA during a search operation carried out by the Command and soldiers from Nkwagu Military Cantonment on March 26, 2014.

The State Director of SSS, Mr. La’asan Baba, gave the names of the suspected kidnappers as Ebere Ukpai Nnachi(aka Kill and Bury), 32, from Abia State, Odichimma Osuji, 30 also from Abia State, Chukwudi Nwamara, 32, from Abia state, Amos Obasi, 23 from Ebonyi State, Peter Nwanna, 30 from Anambra State and Adamu Suleiman from Kogi State.
