Former NURTW chairman shot dead at Ado Ekiti


The former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ekiti State, Mr. Omolafe Aderiye has been shot dead by unknown gunmen. Mr. Aderiye was on his way home yesterday Sept 25, when the gunmen   numbering about four accosted and shot him at close range. Residents told SaharaReporters that Aderiye was killed at Ijigbo area in Ado Ekiti.

He followed Fayose to the High Court Complex in Ado-Ekiti early in the morning when the governor-elect attended the sitting of the Governorship Election Petition tribunal.

It would be recalled that Justice Segun Ogunyemi, who is handling the case of non-qualification of the Governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose, was beaten up by some youths in the yesterday to demonstrate their opposition to alleged plan to stop Fayose’s inauguration. See pic after cut...
